PERSONAL COMMENTARY

Remnants is the 1st song I've made (and the 4th song in general) in the Fractured Planes series. Fractured Planes was a collaborative project between 6 producers that aim to tell a story of different worlds, leading up to one major event: the fracturing of their planes of existence. There have been 7 songs within the series, before it was eventually discontinued.

The main concept that we had for this series was that for every week (or two, iirc), a producer would release a song telling the story of their "plane". Think of it as alternate worlds with their own lore and stuff? Anyway, the climax of our stories were the fracturing of these planes of existence, overlapping these worlds to one another.

In the groupchat we had, we'd often share concepts of our planes to one another, the WIPs we whipped up (haha get it-), and the inside jokes that we had from talking to one another. We even had livestreams to explain our planes for some reason, and they were awfully scuffed πŸ˜‚ I wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that were really optimistic about how this project was gonna go of!

What happens afterwards, I don't know. Life happened, and sadly, we were unable to reach that point. And so was the end of this story.

But it was fun while it lasted, to be honest! And this project pushed me to how fast I could make a song (it was 2 weeks for everything, including the pv, tuning, and everything else), so that was an experience!

And I just wanna say that I'm thankful for the for the memories that Fractured Planes has given to me. Back then, they were my firsts: my first internet friends, the first group of people within the VOCALOID/UTAU community that I've actually interacted with for so long, and the first group of people that accepted me for who I was. They were the ones who taught me so many things about music, pointed me to resources I can use as someone who didn't have much money, tolerated my puns, and the ones who encouraged me to be better, even if just for myself. I wouldn't have gone so far without their support, and if it weren't for them, then I wouldn't even know if I've gone this far. Even if we've gone our separate ways, I still regard them as good friends.

Thank you, FracPlan! I love you all!!! Always take care!!!β€οΈπŸ§‘πŸ’›πŸ’šπŸ’™πŸ’œ

I do plan to elaborate on this world that I did someday, or maybe integrate it into my ongoing project. We'll see!

Okay, now here's a story summary:

Within the Plane of Home and Calamities, there was an island surrounded by sea. Because of its position, the island would usually get storms and typhoons, but its residents would not let their situation keep them from being happy with their lives. On the day of the island's festival, the local weather station detected an unusual amount of energy within the skies, a pattern that seemed like cracked glass, with the fissures flashing in different colors. The local government chose to have the day proceed as usual. However, the energy levels became so strong that it caused a typhoon, the fissure kept on growing, and what seemed like shards of glass fell to the sea, causing big waves to engulf many parts of the island. Many lives were lost on that day.

Plane of Hopes and Calamities tells the story of two people: a girl who was a witness to the catastrophic event, and the weatherman who tried to save his fellow citizens' lives.

Fun fact: The name of the girl in the PV is Storm! Zoku (the one who made Convergence) named the girl :D

LYRICS

Stars are falling from the sky and

Sending prayers to the ones who fell

A lone soul wished for everything to fade

And sadly, this is how the story ends.

Once upon a time in a town far away

Its inhabitants lived their days peacefully

By the day, they dance, by the night, they sing

A simple cycle rolling by

Every storm they had, their sight was clear

Every quake they felt, they stood by their faith

Hand in hand, they faced

What disaster was being brought upon then

Ah, how wonderful they seem to be

Ah, hopefully it never ends, but

Stars have fallen from the sky and

Sending pain to everybody there

A lone soul wished for everything to live

But then again, their wish has long been dead

Stars are falling from the sky and

Sending prayers to the ones who fell

A lone soul wished for everything to fade

And sadly, this is how the story ends.

Once upon a time at the sea nearby

Its inhabitants lived their days mournfully

By the day, they weep, by the night, they cry.

A vicious cycle passing by

Every storm they had, they let out a sigh

Every quake they felt, they proclaim their loss

With their hearts broken,

They spent their last days preparing for their own end

Ah, how pitiful they seem to be

Ah, hopefully their suffering ends, but

Tears are falling from their eyes, they're

Trying to pick pieces of themselves

As everything is coming to an end

Is there still hope? Will things be thrown away?

Stars are falling from the sky and

Sending prayers to the ones who fell

A lone soul wished for everything to fade

And sadly, this is how the story ends.

(Ohhh.... Ohhh...)

Before her eyes, a child saw her own

Dreams and wishes getting shattered

With her flicker of hope slowly fading

Will she leave everything she had behind?

Everything has fallen down and

Breaking apart, never to be seen

The only things that were left standing are

The remnants of they who have once lived

Stars are falling from the sky and

Sending prayers to the ones who fell

A lone soul wished for everything to fade

And sadly, this is how the story ends.

This is how the story ends.

This is how the story ends.
